Bronze Roan Horses and Elk on Roan Creek North of Grand Junction, CO

The bronze figures commemorate the wild Roan horses that once ran wild in the Roan Creek and Kessler Canyon area north of the Book Cliffs and west of  DeBeque Colorado.

This area was one of our popular deer hunting areas in the early 50's
I hunted deer near the Book Cliffs via DeBeque and Roan creek we also shot deer near DeBeque railraod tunnel on Colo River.
We got big trophy bucks west of here on Baxter Pass and Douglas Pass north of Mack.

Seven beautiful handcrafted copper horse sculptures from Davis Murphy, a copper/bronze sculptor from Tampa, were commissioned by Kessler specifically for Kessler Canyon.  Kessler has commissioned five additional, 15-foot copper horses, which Mr. Murphy will be installing at the ranch in May.  There is also a wide selection of Western and antique furniture, Indian rugs, Indian and wildlife artwork and sculptures, including an Indian Crow Shaman bronze monument by Scott Rogers.

Featured artists at the Ranch include Herman Adams and Stefano Cecchini; as well as wildlife sculptors Lorenzo Ghiglieri, Chris Schiller and Gary Cooley.
