Hazel A Lindenschmitt's Great Grandfather is Edward B Ballenger
Here are our notes on the marker:
Edward's will is dated 8 April 1867 and was proved 14 May 1867,
an indication that the date on his grave marker at the Irons/Miles Cemetery,
of April 27, 1867, is probably correct.
[April 27, 1965 was the date of the Sultana disaster in which his son Franklin perished].
The Irons/Miles Cemetery is located on the north side of National Road 40,
off the main road about 300 feet, and next to a golf course.
It is not easily seen when the leaves are on the trees.
The compiler found Edward's stone in July 2005 and it is still readable.
The stone gives the date of April 27, 1867 as the day he died,
and shows he was 64 Ys. 11Mo. 29 Ds.
The stone is also inscribed with:
"Farewell my wife and children all
From you a father Christ doth call
Mourn not for me, it is in vain
To call me to your sight again"
