Hi Gaye and Bernie,

Sorry to hear the bad news about your father John Blasick.
Fran and I offer our condolences to you and Bernadine.
Here are the only photos I have of John when Kathy Webb and I visited 30Aug98.
I think Mom only has one 1943 picture I will try to get digitized for you.

Subject: daddy is gone

I've been alittle ditzy so excuse me if I already told you ,but daddy passed
away on July 1 at 6:00 p.m.. He had good company....Marlon Brando. Maybe
they can have a beer together and I hope he and Uncle Tony can get a game of
golf in now. They  sent his Colorado rockies cap I got him for Father's day
to the mortuary with him. I am having it cremated with him. We will have a
military funeral for him when I can find all the unending paperwork, which
of course I don't have because Betty and/or the trust should have it. Not
me. But that's what I want for him, not Betty and Teresa, his guardian, said
this is what we're doing and I don't care what the attorney says!
So. I got a little something anyway. I am sad.

A death notice will be put in, and then an obituary when we know the date of the military ceremony. Since Betty wouldn't agree to this, and Teresa has finally said, "we're doing this" we couldn't do anything ahead so it will be delayed until all the documents we need are discovered somewhere. What a mess. My fault I guess for not being able to get there with a sick husband, Woody's mother who died, woody's
father who died, Leo who died, Mother having breast cancer, mother moving out here and having a full time job. All those things kept me further away than I wanted to be. I don't believe for one minute if  Daddy knew what Betty had done, excluding me from his estate, he'd agree with it . I just don't believe it.

Subject: daddy's service Daddy's service will be in G. J. Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran's cemetery, 2830 D. Road, 81501. He will have an honor guard, with taps, a flag, and presentation of the flag to Betty. WE will also have a chaplain say a few words.

Iwill write memories for the chaplain to say. If you want anything you want to add, funny, serious, or just thoughts, places e mail to me as soon as you can. Betty and I will then place his remains, photos or any other memorabilia in his wall niche. She will be cremated and her remains will go with him when that time comes. It should be a nice service..

It was nice to talk with you Sunday. I forgot to tell you another memory about your Dad. When my Dad built our house your Dad helped install the hardwood floors throughout the house. The floors still look beautiful 50 years later. John told me of a deer hunting trip to Uncompahgre with Dad and Grant Sawyer, they were driving down a muddy logging road to pick up a buck deer and had to use their Model A Ford to pull out a stuck Jeep, they then drove through the spot where the Jeep was stuck. The guys in the Jeep shook their heads in disbelief,  while Dad and John had a big laugh. Have a safe flight to GJ.
