> Karl-Erich
Here is a copy of a letter we send to all our friends. Thanks to everyone on the BBS & Internet for your support and sympathy. Well things are very sad in the Lindy homestead these days. UCD Med Center found that our son Dean had a cancerous tumor the size of a golf ball on his brain stem that was terminal. This was on 26Feb96. After 20 radiation sessions he was worse and was unable to walk by the end of March. He passed away 20 April 96 one day after Waco/Ok City anniv. He only had to have Morphine the last 24 hours and appeared to have no pain and died peacefully and is waiting to greet us all in Heaven. The bad thing was Fran had pneumonia during March which I also caught she became so depressed and suicidal she was committed to Kaiser Mental facility in south Sac. hospital for 2 weeks. So she only saw Dean while he could walk and talk on 9 March and then the last 2 hours before he died in the Hospice. I was down sick and depressed most of March and April also. With God's help and support from friends and family we will get beyond the pain of such a loss. We enjoy the good memories we had asa family and look at the photos and some movies as well as a few audio tapes he sent us from his Air Force stint in Aviano AFB Italy 1976/77 He was only 37 and in the prime of life. He enjoyed raising an Arabian mare which had a fold. The horse was high spirited and threw him off several times, hurting his head, back and broke his arm. Then he was sued by a disgruntled automotive customer he had to declare bankruptcy and go out of business, Dean's Affordable Auto in Rio Linda. It wasn't long before he had to sell the horses. Anyway life is full of surprises and a loved one can be here one day and gone the next. At least we had 7 weeks warning and were able to say our good byes. There isn't much friends can say but time and God will help. Anyway I am sorry I have such depressing news but that's life.I hope all is well with you and your loved ones for many years to come. Our daughter Tami took care of most of the arrangements including the obit in Friday's BEE. My son worked like a dog all his life and had an excellent physic he was able to take some sunshine the last few weeks and had nice brown tan. The main thing was he was always kind to everyone and was well liked by all and will be sorely missed.
Thanks to everyone on the BBS & Internet for your support and sympathy, Take care and God Bless .... Lindy alias Gary Lindenschmitt
p.s. I hope to digitize a photo of Dean and post it on my Web Page in a couple of weeks.
