With Six of her Seven Children (her son Orey was missing).
Mom's Grandmother Lizzie Billings

Dusting Off Grand Junctions Colorado's Past"
I have fond memories of all the family gatherings we
had to celebrate Grandma Billings birthday every year. Grandma's hair was
pure white and when she unwound the bun her hair came below her waste. Orey
would start playing the organ after he had a few drinks even at 4am. I remeber
running through the underground walkway under the D&RGW railroad tracks to
get from Main Street to Vedi's or Grandmas houses on Lawrence or Pearls
house in the Crawford addition. We all learned how to get the cinders out of our
eyes from the nearby smokey steam engines when we went ot visit Grandma or
Verdi.

Billings family (September, 1956). A sad occasion, but families gather for both good and bad times.
